UFRRJ Innovation Policy (Deliberation 185/2024)

The UFRRJ Institutional Innovation Policy was approved by the University Council (CONSU) on April 3, 2024, through CONSU Deliberation 185/2024.

What it is

The Policy consolidates in a single institutional instrument the principles, guidelines and procedures for innovation at the university, in alignment with:

  • Law 10.973/2004 — Innovation Law
  • Law 13.243/2016 — CT&I Legal Framework
  • Decree 9.283/2018 — Regulation

In 2025, UFRRJ published a Innovation Policy Handbook — educational material that translates the policy into accessible language for researchers, students and companies.

History

The 2024 Policy succeeds previous instruments:

  • CONSU Deliberation 36/2015 — first innovation and IP guidelines
  • CONSU Deliberation 42/2015 — specific guidelines for industrial and intellectual property protection
  • CONSU Deliberation 31/2008 — establishment of the NIT (Agency)
