Enactus Rural

Enactus UFRRJ is a non-profit organization that operates through social entrepreneurship, promoting positive impact in communities — in alignment with the international Enactus network present in over 30 countries.

How it works

UFRRJ students and professors identify a relevant social problem (often in rural or peri-urban communities surrounding the university) and develop sustainable entrepreneurial solutions — business models with measurable social impact.

Enactus pillars

  • Entrepreneurship — sustainable income generation
  • Innovation — using technical-scientific knowledge to solve social problems
  • Social impact — central success metric (not profit)

Typical projects

  • Short production chains (traceability, certification)
  • Bioinputs for family farming
  • Income generation in quilombola and indigenous communities
  • Low-cost rural sanitation
  • Education in remote areas

How to participate

  1. Follow Enactus UFRRJ social media (@inovacao_ufrrj)
  2. Identify open selection processes
  3. Submit a project or apply to the active team
  4. Fulfill workload and participate in national competitions
